  • Furminator: How often, and how much?? | TheCatSite
I use my furminator once a week- Annabelle looooves it She'll jump on my lap if she sees it in my hand I think Isabelle is too sensitive for it I did notice a bald spot on Annabelle when I first started using it- so I cut down now long I brushed her and how often I usually brush her for about 10 minutes once a week with the furminator
  • Furminator as flea comb? | TheCatSite
I don't think it would work as well, you don't really comb out from the root with a Furminator like you can with a flea comb And if you did comb as thoroughly with the Furminator as you would with a flea comb, your cat might end up bald!!
  • Overbrushed with furminator. . . ?! | TheCatSite
So my cats are shedding and since Ive got six I thought Id start brushing them now and maybe Ill have them all done by spring So I get out my furminator which I havent really used much before and started brushing Kinky I figured it would pull out the loose hair just like any other brush He
  • Cats totally HATE The Furminator. Need technique help!!!
The furminator isn't my DLH's favorite either What works is loosening up the hair with the Zoom Groom, and then using a metal COMB The moulting comb works great on him, but I also use a standard comb with the wider spaced teeth and narrow spaced teeth Greyhound combs also seem to be a pretty popular tool
  • What is the most appropriate Furminator size and Furminator blade . . .
The Furminator for short hair cats are for cats whose hair is less than 2 inches and the Furminator for long hair cats are for cats whose hair is longer than 2 inches
  • Furminator - does it cut hair? | TheCatSite
The Furminator is a great tool but not for all cats We have a Mane Coon and most people suggest not using it for this breed due to their multi-layered coat as it does tend to pull out their undercoat too much plus, their coats tangle easily and for the most part, combing is what's recommended along with mat cutters or raking tools if need be
  • furminator vs. knock-off brands | TheCatSite
Anyone have any opinions on this? I bought a knock-off of the furminator at Linens and Things and while it works okay I wonder if the Furminator works better anyone used both? Thanks in advance!
  • Furminator: What a Disappointment | TheCatSite
A furminator is not the proper tool for grooming a longhair cat, although there are variations of it that do say they are for LONG hair and they have much wider spaces between the teeth Those are probably great on a cat who has no mats and has been groomed regularly with a comb What you need for any longhair cat is a metal comb with very long teeth, spread widely at one end and less widely
